This book highlights recent advances in the development of effective modeling and solution approaches to enhance the performance of military logistics. It seeks to further research in global defense-related topics, including military operations, governmental operations and security, as well as nation support.   The book is intended for logisticians, commanders and military scholars. Operations-research analysts, who are interested in large-scale logistics systems, may also find interest in the book, in particular in the models that are presented in the last four chapters. Chapter 1 presents a general introduction to military logistics. Chapter 2 /5(2).

Summary. MILITARY LOGISTICS. The mission of the United States Army is “to fight and win our nation’s wars by providing prompt, sustained land dominance across the full range of military operations and spectrum of conflict in support of combatant commanders.” 1 Accomplishing this mission rests on the ability of the Army to equip and move its forces to the battle and sustain them while.   What are the best books on military logistics?: I have "Supplying War" by Martin Van Creveld and "Feeding Mars" by John A. Lynn but I am always looking to expand my personal/professional library. Books that are specifically on military logistics I have found somewhat hard to come by and I'm curious if anyone knows of any particularly good ones.

The book you linked is a compilation of research papers, which makes sense because the rest of the title is " Research Advances and Future Trends". In my opinion, modern military logistics is closer to the Cold War-era than the digital era, leaving even older reference materials relevant. For the UK military this will be the biggest logistics operation since the Second World War. The process of moving supplies into, around and out of Afghanistan is a resource-intensive operation that has already resulted in numerous instances of local and regional corruption, which have often been accepted as a cost of doing : Dave Clemente, Ryan Evans.
